The Victorian Early Childhood Language Program allows participating funded kindergartens to deliver part of their 4YO kindergarten program in another language at no additional cost to parents.

At Wilson Street, our French language leader has four hours of face-to-face contact time in one of the 4YO programs. Learning languages other than English helps children to improve their overall literacy and understanding of how language in general works. It also strengthens cultural identity and supports cultural inclusion.

The French language program is implemented through play and integrated throughout the program by all staff members.
